Abstract

The experiments are to carried out in Rice Mechanization Center, Meet El-Deeba, Kafr El Sheikh Governorate. Field experiments are to be carried out to evaluate the performance of the manufactured topping unit at the following topper three forward speeds of 1.5, 2.0, and 2.5km/h, three topping heights of 2, 4, and 6cm, the clearance can be adjusted between the knife and the feeler.(Level vertical and horizontally), (clearance between knife and feeler wheel), and three sugar beet moisture content of 50.0, 42.0 and 35.0 %.
Theoretical field capacity, actual field capacity, field efficiency, fuel consumption, power requirements, energy requirements, topping performance and topping cost operation (transplanter, unit topper and labor costs) product losses cost (losses price) were studied to evaluate topping performance.
